CHAMPION TROPHY ROSE!
Madam Sass lived her life with daring indulgence. She is our homage to heroines from Central Otago’s gold rush era; when gutsy women held little regard for the establishment and relished taking risks.
Sourced from vineyards in Bendigo, Central Otago, this enticing Pinot Noir Rose is a juicy, luscious wine boasting vibrant berry and stonefruits, leading into a spicy finish with just a touch of sweetness. The current vineyard sites were formed from ancient glaciers grinding schist rocks to smaller gravels. The soil is rich in minerals, free draining and perfect for growing exceptional Pinot Noir. In the winery, the grapes were gently de-stemmed and pressed. Skin contact was left to a minimum to ensure a soft natural colour.
This first release of Madam Sass Pinot Noir Rosé won the Trophy for 'Champion Rose' at the New World Wine Awards in 2019, and a Gold Medal at the 2019 NZ International Wine Show. Two stellar results for this sassy little rose! Be quick, stocks are limited!!
