Kahurangi Estate Nelson Pinot Gris 2023

Kahurangi Estate is a family owned boutique vineyard in Upper Moutere, Nelson, dedicated to producing hand-made, premium quality wines in a truly sustainable manner. Their focus is on aromatic grape varieties that respond exceptionally well to Nelson's sunny, but cool winter climate.

Owned by the Day family since 1973, Kahurangi's wines reflect the true flavours and beauty of the Nelson region. Sourced from a selection of Nelson vineyard sites, 2021 was a stunning growing season. A dry Spring, followed by a hot, dry Summer with a little bit of rain pre harvest resulted with super ripe grapes, with concentrated, intense flavours and clean, crisp acidity.

This 2023 Pinot Gris is sublime. A subtle perfumed nose brimming with pears, nashi and crushed ripe apple is repeated on the palate. A slightly drier mouth-feel and a great full length to finish. Versatile and perfectly matched to food or enjoyed on its own. This elegant, fleshy wine makes a perfect aperitif, or serve chilled (11°c) with fresh fish. 13% abv.
