Crossroads Winemakers Collection Chardonnay 2015

For over 25 years, Crossroads has represented the very best of small parcel winemaking in Hawke's Bay.

The Winemakers Collection includes the very best parcels of fruit, carefully selected from our own vineyards, crafted with passion into the most exceptional wines Hawke’s Bay has to offer.

The Chardonnay grapes were sourced from the Kereru Road vineyard and were hand harvested. Fermentation occurred using a mixture of indigenous and inoculated yeasts. The wine remained in barrel on lees with regular stirring throughout the winter. After 10 months aging in 25% new French barrels we assembled the blend and prepared for bottling.

A complex Chardonnay with citrus blossom, nectarine and toasty oak characters on the nose. The palate is rich and creamy, with flavours of melon, lemon and peach leading to a long fresh finish. Excellent food match with Southern fried chicken with butter chips and a fresh garden salad. 14% abv.
